Tinder Gold has been in the forefront of many people’s minds since its initial release. It is even more expensive than the apps other paid service Tinder Plus. Whether or not the new gold version is worth the price difference depends on how much value you will get out of the new features.

Tinder Gold has all of the features included with Tinder Plus, but there are two new features added in this version. The two new features are additional profile settings and the ability to see who has liked you already.

Now it is up to you to decide if these two features are worth the cost increase. At 30$ a month for one month of service, it can be quite hefty compared to the Plus version, which is less than half that price. There are a few scenarios we can see it being a good deal for someone, though. Let’s take a closer look at everything Tinder Gold has to offer us.

The Features of Tinder Gold: What They Are, What They Do, and Are They Worth It?

All in all, there are 11 new features compared to the free version of the app and two new features on top of the features added by Tinder Plus. Most of the features that will impact people’s experience on the app are included with the Plus version. So that means the two new features need to make up the extra value to justify the price increase.

So what features are included with Gold?

The 11 new features add to your ability to match with interesting people. Let’s do a quick breakdown of each feature and what it adds.

Swipe With No Limits

Te base version of the app only allows you to swipe on a limited number of profiles in 24 hours. This limits your ability to put yourself out there and artificially inflates the time it takes to find the perfect match. For the person that is impatient with love, this is going to be a game-changing solution.

Swipe Anywhere with Tinder Passport

Don’t you hate it when you go on vacation and have to wait until you arrive to start swiping? Of course, you do! Who wouldn’t like to have someone waiting for you when you get to your destination already. With the passport feature, you can swipe wherever you want. That way you can arrange a date for the day you arrive.

A Tinder Boost Every Month

If you feel you are not getting enough attention from the ladies, you can always take advantage of the Tinder Boost you get with your subscription every month. This automatically pushes you to the top of all the girls’ tinders, so they see you first thing. Tinder suggests that there is data to support its claim to double your number of matches. If you want to be seen wherever you go, this is a perfect feature.

5 Superlikes per day

On top of the Tinder Boost you get monthly, you will also get five super likes every day. You can use these to let the girls you are most interested in them that you really want their attention. Super likes are more likely to be liked back than when you regular like a girl on Tinder. This should help you boost your chances of meeting with the people you would like to meet.

Rewind Previous Swipes

Almost everyone who has ever gone on Tinder remembers the first time they saw that perfect girl and accidentally swiped right never to see her again. With Tinder Gold’s rewind feature, you will never have to relive those painful memories back. The next time your finger betrays you and swipes in the wrong direction, tap the rewind button to undo your last swipe. Who said life never gives you second chances?

Control Who Can See Your Age and Distance

If you are the kind of person that would rather maintain some privacy until you meet in person, the new profile controls are a great mechanic in the app. It lets you hide your age or your distance or both from potential matches. Now you can finally end age discrimination online and meet up with anyone you want.

Free of Advertisements

Of course, the free version of the app has quite a few advertisements. They even disguise them as profiles, so they are easy to click on by mistake. Luckily if you upgrade to the gold version of the app, you will never see another add again.

The Likes You Tab

You can see who swiped left on you with the new like you tab. It will arrange everyone that has liked you that you have not already swiped on. You can go to the like you page, and peruse a selection of women who have all already matched with you. This is the most significant update to the features in the new gold version. For people that don’t like surprises, it will change your entire dating life. Never worry about rejection again by only swiping on girls who have already expressed some interest in you.

Top Picks Tab

This is the final new feature in the gold version. In addition to the new like you tab, there is also a tab for tinders best potential matches for you. This tab displays a selection of girls that Tinder thinks you will be the best match for. While it may not be as exciting as the new likes you tab, it does add a little something to the experience.

Tinder Gold vs. Tinder Plus

Ultimately the deciding factor between these versions of the app is going to reside in how much value you place in the new likes you and top picks tabs. All of the other features were already included in the less expensive Tinder Plus version of the app. It is hard to say definitively, which is the better deal. They both bring a lot to the table, and many people have found them both to be valuable services.

If you are mostly concerned about the cost, then you may end up liking the Plus version of the app the best. It contains the bulk of the features of the Gold version at a lower cost.

Is Tinder Gold Worth It? The Bottom Line

Whether Tinder Gold is worth it or not truly will depend on your personal preferences. It is difficult to tell how much someone will value the new tabs without getting to know that person because dating is such a personal experience.

Ultimately if you are the type of person that wants the top of the line experience, then gold will be worth the jump in price. However, if you are more along the lines of someone who values the cost to benefit ratio the most, it could be that you find the Plus version of the app to be the most worthwhile.

You can always try out a month of gold, and if you are not satisfied with the benefit ratio, downgrade to the Plus version. There’s no harm in at least trying it out.
